Post #264 "What Religion Is, but Isn't"

What is Religion supposed to be about----Self or Other?
And what is religion, actually, about----Self or Other?
If religion is about Other, why do we need 'The Law' to regulate our
relationship with Other?-----
---to regulate 'my-Self'?
If I need 'The Law' to direct my attitudes and actions, religion is not about Other but
is about Self--------'this is what Self should do'.
Religion really can't, then, be about Other.
Religion cannot explain or control Other.
So it seems that religion is Self and
how Self Becomes God.

What is 'Other' to religion?
Is God 'Other' in religion----
or is God 'Self'' in religion?

What about God?
Can we relate to God if God is Other?
It sure doesn't look that way.
We constantly make God Self----through Possession, through Identity,
and finally, through The Law.
\God doesn't exist as, just God.
God must 'Become' Our God.
We seem to feel and to think that we can make God ours,
That Self can make God, Self.
That Self can Become God through claiming God's possessions,
possessions being all that God created.
Religion, therefore entitles Self to Possess all that God created through claiming
God as Self.
God becomes Self-----this God is my God,
meaning this God is not the God of Other than Self.
God gives Self its Identity.

We have no patience with someone else's God.
In fact, we war against someone else's God.
Our God is seen as "Good'.
Someone else's God, guess what, is Evil!!
In fact, everything we think of as 'good', we associate with our God.

Then, is God Created?
Who Created God?
Self or Other?
Self must have created God,
and not God creating Self, as religion proclaims.
So, Self seems to be creator.
Self creates all that is created and then refers to it-Self as God,
which basically, changes Self back into created Other-of-Self.
Self, divided into its Good and its Evil------
through Creation..

If Self created God, would God be the same as if Other Created God?
What if God were created by Other?
What if God Were Other?
Is there any place in history where a foreign God was accepted as the 'untouchable',
ruling God of another people?
Do we constantly desire the God of another,
---that we may possess that God's Power?
----that we may possess that people thereby eliminating Other?
Is the desire for another's God behind what we go to war for?
We constantly desire-----
Desire what?
Surely not what we already possess.

We desire to possess what belongs to some 'Other'
We desire to possess Other and Otherness---to make it our own!
---to bring, through possession, into Self.
We want some Other's possessions, some Other's Name/Identity, some Other's
Right to Rule, that we may rule what was Other and now is Self through possession
and created Law by a created God of Self seeking possession of Other,
and through that possession, claiming Identity that changes through possession.

We want what is Our's but we also desire what is not ours.
By the way, religion refers to 'Other' as our neighbor, basically giving Self possession
of Other by claiming Other as neighbor and having responsibility toward that neighbor and the Other, the neighbor, toward our-Self.
To be claimed 'neighbor' puts Other under Rule of being Neighbor and in that sense, possessed
and Identified as such
The Law says we should not desire what belongs to the neighbor, but that it is okay
to take possession of the Other's possessions, etc. by taking possession of the neighbor,
by possessing the neighbor, one can claim the neighbor's goods.

This would be seen as Self desiring Other.
Through Self desiring Other, Other is seen as Becoming Self,
basically, Other is sacrificed by giving up Otherness to Become One with a now greatly
expanded and enlarged Self.
This Self is not satisfied as long as any Other remains Other.
This Self gorges it-Self on Other after Other, until no Other remains
and there is no Other to Observe Self as Self, to Witness to Self's Selfness, and to Validate
Self in Entity, consequently in Infiniteness.

Self creates Self out of  'Otherness', through Possession, Identity, and the Right to Reign.
Other looses Essence to Self.
Other dies,
so without Other as Other,
Self dies.
Its Essence, Self becomes absorbed into the Essence of Self and its Identity Becomes the Identity
of the Self through Perception, as the ability to Observe is lost.

Reality is lost.
What in Reality is Self and Other Becomes, in Creation,
Self, made up of the broken off parts and pieces of it-Self.
This created Self is unable to Observe Reality.
Reality Is, Reality exists, but not for the Created Self, because the created Self has lost the
ability to Observe 'What Is'.
The created Self can only, and Chooses only, to Perceive out of it-Self .
Created Self cannot step outside of Self to Observe what Is and what Is Not.
Created Self is at constant and bitter odds with its parts and pieces at war within it-Self.
The war Becomes centered in the Self and Perceives parts of it-Self as foreign and as enemy.
This is necessary for Self to survive.
As Self Perceives all through it-Self, Self feeds on Self and constantly diminishes Self.
Self creates Other within it-Self that it may survive by feeding off of Other.

The attraction is the Other's God.
The created Self does not Perceive, as Self, that which it does not desire as Self,
according to how it Perceives it-Self, as Desiring to Become its God.

If Male is Self, Male desires Male as Male is its God.
This Self/Male desires Female as that which Perceives its Maleness, Witnesses and Validates
it God-ship through Worship.
The Feminine is needed to Worship, thereby Witnessing the God-ship of the
Masculine.
Male cannot become Male, the God Male without the Witnessing and Validating of the Feminine
The female brings about the God-Male but for this reason cannot become one with him
no matter how the unity is described

Religion shows Becoming God, as Self conquering Other:
God creates world and all that is in and above the world.
Consequently all Creation belongs to God of Creation.
God possess all He (male) creates.
Here, God Becomes Other as Self now presents its-Self and Dreams and Desires to Possess all
God has Created.
As long as God is Other, Self is Other to God,
as Other, Self has no claim on God or God's possessions,
also by not possessing, Self has no Essence, has no Identity,
as Self relies on Possession for Identity,
(one Is what one Has)
Self cannot Become its own God until Other is eliminated.
Self eliminates Other and Becomes One with God through the story of religion.
Religion, however, seems to have a problem in deciding if Self Becomes God
or if God Becomes Self.
Which does religion eliminate,
God the Self,
or God the Other?

Of course, the Self of Consciousness Desires what it Perceives as Other.
The Self of Consciousness does not Perceive what it Dreams and Desires as of it-Self
and so personifies those Dreams and Desires into an-Other that is outside Reality.
Self does this by creating its own existence in which Self plays both roles, that of Self
and that of Other.
And---here is where confusion and chaos sets in, as Self cannot determine which role to play,
and constantly flips  back and forth and constantly questions it-Self.
Who is Self?
As soon as I can determine Self, maybe I can determine Other?
Who or what is Other than my-Self?
Who or what do I conquer and eliminate?
When there are two parts, Self and Other, these parts become confused and conflicted
and each take on divided roles within the Self which divide and break-down into all the
parts and pieces of creation.

Is God Self,
needing Worship of Other to be Self?
or is God Other,
needing Self to Become Other?

So what is religion,
Worship of God as Self
or
is religion Worship of Self as God
or does religion worship Self as Becoming God???????
