We just cannot get beyond an existence that is beyond our intelligence and beyond our control. Even God comes into and under our control. Scientists who accept the possibility of God suggest that they can see into the mind of God. They question God's intentions....why should God have created the universe?....was it out of boredom?..... was God, according to Thomas Aquinas, playing? And of course, from here arise the questions of an entropic universe and a pointless vacuum. After the speculation come the questions, especially the question of 'why is there something rather than nothing?'. And then our mechanical minds search for mechanical answers that demand proof. Proof of what? Proof of God? Proof of something rather than nothing? Proof of myself? Do I exist?

These questions eventually lead to purpose....does the cosmos exist because it satisfies an abstract need for goodness? A better question would be is......does goodness exist of and by itself or does goodness exist because deep down humanity realizes it is capable of destroying itself. (that which divides must come together) Here comes the rather, contrived to suit the purpose,..word, LOVE. There is much evidence to prove that this cosmic destruction is in action and seemingly unstoppable as this is the real purpose of humanity. Destruction? The purpose of all this, this creation? A better question might be, why the need to destroy? Why the need to control? Why the need for Power, in any and every shape and form. Power, of course, is behind all destruction. What is the opposite of power? Love is thought to be the opposite of power. So that when we are afraid of all the destruction we have wrought, we regear and search out what we see as love.

What about love? Is it real? Does it exist or is it only a last resort to delay our own destruction? Can we know, can we give, can we receive love? Are we even capable of knowing love? Does love exist within our created, fragile creation? And what of Reality.......does Reality, that which is outside creation, does Reality know love? As creation is the distorted and upside-down reflection of Reality...it would seem so.
